THE SECOND BALTIC-BLACK SEA FORUM

The 2nd Baltic-Black Sea Forum that was scheduled to be held on March 31, 2016 in Kyiv has been postponed to November 2016 due to some technical reasons. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and will notify everyone of the exact date of the Forum with an official invitation.

To further develop cooperation between the states of the Baltic-Black Sea region and to foster implementation of the resolutions of the 1st Baltic-Black Sea Forum held on November 12, 2015 in Kyiv, Ukraine, the NGO “International Initiative to Support Ukraine” organizes international event “The 2nd Baltic-Black Sea Forum” which will take place in Kyiv on March 31, 2016. The Forum will be organized jointly with the foundation “Baltic-Black Sea Security Confederation” (Lithuania), the political party “Republican Platform” (Ukraine), and other co-organizers.

Discussions during this Forum will address a range of issues regarding the formation of political, economic and energy community of countries of the Baltic-Black Sea region, coordination of actions of the states of the Baltic-Black Sea region in military, defense industry and information spheres as well as institutionalization of the “Baltic-Black Sea Community”.

Among the participants invited to the Forum are renowned statesmen, political and public activists, heads of parliaments, ministers of foreign affairs from the countries of the Baltic-Black Sea region.

The Forum will be held on 31st March, 2016 in Kyiv from 9:00 till 16:00 in the conference hall of the Radisson Blue Hotel Kyiv located at: 22 Yaroslaviv Val Str., Kyiv, Ukraine.

9.30 – 11.00 Plenary session 1. Existing European geopolitical associations as guarantors of regional security
Unusual challenges for the countries of the Baltic-Black Sea region in terms of the efficiency of European and Euro Atlantic communities with regard to the security of the region Contemporary Russian foreign policy and the lack of an adamant adequate response to it as a real threat to the security of the countries of the Baltic-Black Sea region
Transfer from the supra-regional security architecture to multidimensional security sub-blocks.

11.30 – 13.00 Plenary session 2. From the socio-political Baltic-Black Sea Forum to the political regional union of the countries of the “Baltic-Black Sea Community”.
Prerequisites for the formation of political, economic and energy community of countries of the Baltic-Black Sea region.
Coordination of actions of the states of the Baltic-Black Sea region in military, defense industry and information spheres.
Institutionalization: the creation of a permanent Secretariat as intergovernmental structure for the formation of “Baltic-Black Sea Community,” the Baltic-Black Sea Chamber of Commerce and other institutions of cooperation.

14.00 – 16.00 Plenary session 3. Baltic-Black Sea Commonwealth as a promising and future-oriented (attractive) European macro region: economic, social and cultural dimensions of the community.
International projects as a basis for the development of the Baltic-Black Sea community.
Cultural cooperation in the region as a basis for opposition to external destructive ideologies and their propaganda. Development of creativity is a key to ensure innovative rapid economic growth.
Preparation for Integration of Eastern neighbors into the European Community within the Baltic-Black Sea community.
